NEWS RELEASE (September 1, 2023) – Fareway Stores, Inc. opened its newest location at 8606 NE 85th, Kansas City. The location will provide for an approximately 8,700 square foot Fareway Meat Market with a second-to-none, full-service butcher counter and only the best in fresh, highest quality meat.
Additionally, the location will offer to-go barbecue meal options through McGonigle’s Kitchen and Catering, like services at the 79th and Ward Parkway and Olathe, Kansas locations. Traditional, Kansas City barbecue favorites prepared by our experts, include beef brisket, burnt ends, sausage rolls, pulled pork, brisket mac and cheese, steakhouse baked beans, other deli salads, and so much more will be smoked fresh and available daily. The Meat Market will also provide an impressive grocery selection, including fresh-cut produce, dairy, healthy varieties, locally sourced items, and others. A variety of craft beer, fine wines, and top-shelf spirits will be available, in addition to full-service and online ordering with convenient, curbside pickup at Shop.Fareway.com.

The new meat market will be managed by Market Manager Jake Davidson and Deli Manager, Andy Schirm. The store is open to the public beginning Friday, September 1 during normal store hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
